Amelia and George’s late-December wedding at Kin House was designed to feel wintery without tipping into anything overtly “festive”. Pink was non-negotiable, but in carefully chosen tones – layered with burgundy and softened by garden-led foliage so the overall feel stayed warm, atmospheric and intimate rather than classically Christmassy. In fact, we avoided pine and fir entirely; instead, the focus was on speciality garden roses in blush and deeper pinks, paired with airy butterfly ranunculus, with a hint of nostalgia woven in through candlelight and carefully placed Christmas trees.
The ceremony took place in the Hearth Room, framed by two plinths topped with generous urn arrangements and a statement Christmas tree, creating an immediate sense of warmth and welcome. In the Kilvert Hall, soft white draping overhead and rows upon rows of tapered candles transformed the space into something equally glowing and enveloping. Working with Amelia – an interior designer with an impeccable eye for detail – made the whole process an absolute joy and a really special way to end an already incredible year.
