Most of Brianna and Matthew’s wedding guests flew in from the States, so it was important that the day felt unmistakably English, with a relaxed countryside energy and pretty lilac, dusky pinks and soft peach florals. They married at the church directly opposite the house where Matthew’s grandparents once lived and where they’re now laid to rest, which gave the ceremony a beautiful sense of place and continuity.
Alliums are Brianna’s favourite, so we wove larger heads into the installations and tucked smaller ones into bouquets and table arrangements. The dahlias that season were at their very best and brought a fresh hit of colour and texture to the already greenery-heavy Orangery at Elcot Park. When Brianna found me tidying at midnight to tell me how much she loved the flowers, it felt like the perfect ending to a perfect day.
