With eight pastel-hued bridesmaids setting the direction, Georgie and Chris’s August wedding at Kin House became a modern take on vivid summer colour. Georgie placed complete trust in me to take the creative lead, which gave us the freedom to respond instinctively to the palette and create something playful, polished and unmistakably garden-party in spirit.
We leaned into single-variety bud vases throughout – soft blue delphiniums in one, peach dahlias in another, then pink cosmos – letting each shade take its turn. Cosmos, strawflower, stocks and malope featured throughout the design, their muted tones balancing the brighter lilacs, blues and peaches layered across the installations and tables. The pale pink malope was particularly heavenly: light, fluttery and endlessly photogenic against the backdrop of Kin House’s iconic interiors.
